Facebook just released a new automated lead generation tool first announced in May. This feature allows business pages to create automated answers to questions through messenger. When a consumer sends the business a message on Facebook, they will initially be corresponding with the automated bot to resolve any common questions. Businesses can continue to communicate with the user through their Facebook page inbox or a third-party live chat option. Advertisers are also able to integrate this tool with a CRM platform. According to Marketing Land, recent research has shown that 42% of people expect a response from a chatbot within 5 seconds of sending a company a message online. Businesses involved in the test run of this new tool saw an increase in leads of 42% and an 18% higher lead resolve rate on messenger compared to phone conservations. These businesses also saw lead response times drop to less than 10 minutes.
