Instagram just launched a new feature allowing brands to boost organic posts created by influencers, turning them into paid ads to reach more users. This new feature allows brands to extend their reach beyond the current following of the brand or influencer. These boosted posts will allow the brands to capitalize on their marketing spending by expanding the impact of a paid influencer post. As Mobile Marketer states this feature and features like it being rolled out by Instagram are going further than trying to boost ad sales, they are trying to encourage e-commerce revenue with more features encouraging shopping and direct purchases from the app.
